My Story

My name is Reilly Callaghan. I am a graduate of University of North Carolina Wilmington's theatre program and a local working actor. I spent time in Atlanta and New York teaching and working as an actor. I now have moved back to the Wilmington area where I direct youth theatre with Thalian Associations, as well as teach my own classes here in town.

Testimonials

"This is an amazing program for so many reasons! The children learned so much from Mr. Reilly. They enjoyed his positive energy and excitement to teach. Children really responded to him. The little boys loved seeing a male teacher and looked up to him as a positive, engaged role model.

We give this program a 10 out of 10 plus lots of bonus points! Rainbow Enrichment Summer Camp not only recommends Reilly, but we look forward to having him back with us next summer. This Improv program is a huge asset to our summer camp. Parents, teachers and children were all thrilled with teachings! We had children change their schedules to make sure they could attend each session!"

"My three kids (ages 8, 6 and 6) have never enjoyed an after school class as much as Reilly's improv class. Their only complaint was that they wanted the class to be longer. After every class, it was clear they'd been laughing and having fun the whole time as they described the several different improv games/exercises that they'd done that day. Even our shyest child showed no signs of being hesitant to participate in the class and could not wait to go every week. I cannot recommend this class more! It was fantastic!"

"Coach Reilly is dear to our hearts. He has been an outstanding acting coach to our sons, (13) and (7). They have both taken the class he has offered according to the age groups; his improv class, camera class, adventures in acting, and creative drama. We come from Southern CA. Our oldest has taken acting classes before, and as soon as we met Coach Reilly, we knew he was fantastic! He is excellent with kids; he is kind, professional, personable, and fun! His laugh is contagious—he is gifted, and he quickly helps inspire and bring out the best in the kids as they each discover the joy of acting."

The Future We See

Rei Cal Improv is a local improv class that is trusted by the community, working with young future and current creatives.  Offering classes to teens and children in a group setting, there’s something for anyone looking to foster their inner artist of any kind. It's also a benefit to someone who doesn't see a future in the arts as it nurtures confidence and learning to think on your feet and organize your thoughts. We strive to instill creativity and teach form and function to all artists and guests that come to Rei Cal Improv seeking a fun, relaxing, and well rounded experience. My belief that improv is the foundation of fostering the best acting habits, as well as creating a fun, creative, and confident young adult that TRUSTS THEMSELVES!

Our Values

The most important value held at Rei Cal Improv & Theatre is a welcoming space. It is incredibly important to me that every student feels heard, seen, and are allowed to bring what makes them unique, different, and special to the classroom.
